Voice Setting not applied to Tone Test, Voice stopped working for Tone Test only

Before a restart of the program, the changed voice setting doesn't even apply to the dictionary. After a restart, the selected voice is used for dictionary readings, but for Tone Test the old voice was being used.

After I answered a Tone Test question, the next question was not read at all in any voice, no visualization either, but the sound effects for wrong/right answers still played. The dictionary readings still work as expected though, besides having to restart before a change to the voice setting is applied.

Weirdly, uninstalling and then re-installing helped. I now have my tone test voice back. Not sure what it changed since it left a lot of the registry entries and settings files.

Just to clarify, are we talking about different Microsoft voices here or have you got other voices set up? Personally I only have one Microsoft voice configured which is why I haven't run into this issue. I will certainly look into this but it may be the new year before that can happen. Thanks for pointing it out!

Oh, I didn't think to try only Microsoft voices. I've been using VoiceWare Liang and Wang. I just tried switching from VW Wang to Microsoft Hanhan, but the setting didn't take. I tried restarting, and the voice was still VW Wang for one question, then the next question it was silent. I don't know how to fix that besides re-installing.

I've made a collection of every mandarin text to speech voice that I could find floating around the web. They are all MS SAPI at least.

I've been looking around for VoiceWare downloads for Windows to try and replicate this but can't find any. Do you happen to have a link to it? Thanks!

Not to worry, I managed to replicate the problem using another Microsoft voice. After changing the selected voice on the Options form it wasn't propagating out to the rest of the program. This has been fixed now in version 7.2.3.3.
